ABOUT ME
Hey there! My name is Gracie, (she/her) and I'm happy you're here!
I am a proud autistic self-advocate with a passion for arts accessibility. I hope to spread awareness and acceptance through my favorite forms of self-expression... performing and writing! I am a member of The Theatre School at DePaul University's centennial graduating class, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Playwriting and a certificate in Disability Studies.
I have been a performer since age nine. I first started out with improv, and later moved on to community theatre, and found a love for being in front of the camera as a teenager. Some of my favorite onstage roles have been the title role in Carrie the Musical and Jo March in Little Women. I've also worked on numerous short and feature films, from tear-jerker family dramas to campy horror (complete with plenty of fake blood).

I've been a writer since I could read, but I wrote my first short play at age 15, more or less on a dare from a high school teacher. After winning the Texas Thespian Festival PLAYWORKS competition with that debut play (The Last Sunrise of August 1973), I realized that not only do I love writing plays, but other people seemed to enjoy them, too... and the rest was history!
Since then, I went on to pursue a BFA in Playwriting from DePaul, presented staged readings of my original full-length plays,
Median and Bury the Snowcats, at The Theatre School's annual Wrights of Spring Festival of New Works, and was commissioned to write
The Adventures of Spectrum Sparks for CenterStage Theatre Works in Texas.
Now, I am beginning my post-graduation creative journey with a playwriting residency at Raven Theatre in Chicago!

I'm so glad you decided to check out my website. I can't wait to get to know each other better!
